Firefighters were called to the scene of a three vehicle collision last Thursday night which left one man with serious injuries and two others with minor injuries.
The collision on Pasture Lane in Rainford left an elderly man with serious chest and neck injuries, having to be cut from the vehicle.
The man was later taken to Whiston Hospital after firefighters had sliced the roof off his Volvo car to lift him free of the wreckage.
The incident also involved two women, aged in their early 60s who received medical treatment at the scene.
