A 22-year-old man admitted to causing the death of a six-year-old boy in Wakefield, West Yorkshire in June last year.
The man of Emley, Huddersfield admitted to Leeds Crown Court that he was responsible for causing death by dangerous driving and could now potentially face a term in jail.
A number of charges have been brought against the man including allegations of a failure to stop and report an accident in addition to charges of attempting to disguise vehicle damage and pervert the course of justice.
The six-year-old was out playing with a friend in Fishpond Lane, Wakefield when he was struck by the car.
An interim ban was placed upon the driver and Judge Geoffrey Marson QC told him that at the conclusion of next week’s two-day hearing he could expect to go to jail.
The defendant was granted bail and will face the further charges on Monday.
